HOMESCHOOLING

2017-12-04

The major forces that drives parents away from campus schools and into homeschooling are, the declining quality of the campus schools, their passion of involvement in the education process with their children and their ability to fully monitor their children’s progress. Parents can’t be always sure about the quality of education delivered to their children and even if they became sure, they can’t trust the environment in school to be suitable to their children morally.

But what is homeschooling?

Homeschooling is the education of students at home and not traditional campus schools where compulsory attendance is present. It is usually conducted by a parent or a private tutor. According to a study conducted by the US National Center for Education, about three percent of all children in the US were homeschooled in 2011-2012 school year. As of 2016, there are about 2.3 million home-schooled students in the United States.

But an interesting fact here is that homeschoolers usually score at or above the national average on standardized tests. There have been some claims that homeschoolers may lack the necessary social skills necessary to interact with people in real-life and job market, studies came to the rescue by showing that 98% of students participated in 2 or more activities outside their home.

Coding education
