Minecraft is a game-based learning platform that has transformed the way educational games are built and added a new dimension to the education process as we know today. It has tons of engaging content and capabilities. Minecraft: Education Edition is an open-world variant of Minecraft which promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in an immersive environment where the only limit is your imagination.

Pixel art in Minecraft creates an excellent opportunity for students to work on mathematics and visual arts objectives in an engaging environment. Students have the complete Minecraft world to use as their canvas. Pixel art creations can range from portraits and landscapes to patterns and language as students carefully transfer their plans to the immersive space. Teachers can complete their own projects, too, as they gain experience on the platform in a short time.

Minecraft: Education Edition offers special features that are special designed for teachers, including tutorials, classroom management tools, and sample lessons. Minecraft also boasts a great community and plenty of support. Educators use Minecraft in their lesson plans to teach a variety of subjects like science, art, and languages

Minecraft helps children build many important skills and improve their approach to problem solving. Skills like collaboration, communication, and critical thinking are developed as children progress in their Minecraft adventure. The game’s open world gives a lot of freedom and encourages creative self-expression and problem solving. Students are assessed as they submit the grid diagrams for their plans for correction and evaluation.

Code Builder is a feature of Minecraft that allows students to learn coding using multiple programming tools like RoboGarden, Code.org, and Scratch. Students can use blocks of code or JavaScript to build and create in Minecraft. Players will not only develop computational thinking skills, but will also learn how to apply their creations across the curriculum.

Learning to code with Minecraft and RoboGarden through the combination of visual code blocks and Code Connection is an ideal learning tool. You can view your code in RoboGarden right next to the Minecraft interface. Your programs will run with the click of a button, allowing you to help the Minecraft agent complete a variety of different mission objectives while avoiding potential obstacles.

All you have to do is to download Minecraft: Education Edition, setup Code Builder to connect RoboGarden and Minecraft, log into RoboGarden, and navigate to Minecraft Missions. In the Code Connection window, click to copy the command. Then, go to Minecraft and press “T.” Paste the command you just copied into the command line. Everything should be connected!

Upon the completion of their first year of using Minecraft, teachers can adapt, edit, and learn from the successes and missteps along their way. Each new year brings with it the opportunity to continue practicing their own comfort with the program and to refine their students’ learning experiences with Minecraft.
